    Software for music syncing etc

Hi there folks. I've bought a new 2Gb M6 from ebay (should arrive in a couple of days) and I have been mucking around with video and audio software while I wait for it to arrive.
I did find a gem in music organiser, tagger, playlist creator and a zillion other features in Media Monkey. http://www.mediamonkey.com/
It's free and has a feature that enables you to sync with portable media players. Is anybody using this with their M6? Or can somebody download it and try it out and let me know what they think.
Personally I think the software is great and Meizu should do a deal with Media Monkey and bundle it with their players.

I am currently using MediaMonkey, but then again there are many programs just like this. I do not recommend Meizu to form a deal with MediaMonkey.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!

ErrOr, obviously I like Media Monkey's software, but I'm not sure how it interacts with the Meizu as of yet. I believe software bundled with DAP's form an integral part of a users experience - especially if they are not technically proficient with computers. This is part of the reason I think ipods have been so successful, the hardware works hand in hand with the software for a complete experience.
Of course, if Meizu had an application that handled video conversion as well as organise music and sync with the miniplayer (and offer other tweaks to do with the miniplayer) that would be awesome.
I'm just offering my opinion as to the total customer experience. Needless to say, you can't please everyone!

I would rather have some open-standards everyone can use, so that you don't need a piece of software for every device you have at home. Not like iTunes - Apple iPod, Media Source - Creative Zen.

MediaMonkey works well, but I do not feel that Meizu needs to bundle/rebrand it.

I believe in open standards too, but unfortunately they don't always work as well as something that is created specifically for particular hardware. I've read through some of the video encoding problems some people have on this forum. The software used is open source and most of the time does its job properly, but the range of options available in the software does introduce the chance of errors due to people choosing incorrect settings etc. They then go searching on the internet for different software that could perhaps do the job better than the software Meizu supplied (in fact isn't meizu recommending the full version of VirtualDub rather than their cut down version??).

I'm not advocating people not having a choice to use whatever software they want and being locked in to proprietry software i.e. ipod-itunes, I just think that the hardware manufacturer should provide a solution that works simply and effectively. If users then wish to choose a different option, then thats up to them as the hardware isn't locked to specific software.

But anyway, I seem to be diverting on my original subject. I was just after opinions on how Media Monkey works with the M6.:D

Don't supply any software with the M6. Why should meizu provide software? I think most users use Win XP (at least not Win98). WinXP recognizes the miniplayer and if you want to use free software you can also use WMP11. MediaMonkey is not totally free. The free version misses functions you do want to have in a complete package such as full-speed CD-Burning and Ripping to MP3. In other words, you have to buy the Gold-version.

I used MediaMonkey for a while and it didn't have many advantages (in my opinion) with regards to other software packages. Finally I use WMP11, and it works pretty good. Only the album-art needs to be perfectioned.

I think the problem is that 100 people have 100 wishes and there is not one package that fulfills everyones need. So why supply software that doesn't satisfy all your customers? Drivers aren't needed anymore (even Microsoft doesn't support Win98 anymore) and there isn't a manual on the CD (I had to download one from Internet).

So, back to basic, MediaMonkey works fine, just like all the other programs, but don't supply with a MP3-player. Just make the player cheaper.

i actually use shuffler myself. you just point it to a source folder (any place in your hard drive) and to a destination folder (the MUSIC folder in your m6), set a few parameters and it shuffles your music into the m6 for you. you can find it here.

this site also have other useful little programs.

i'm not the one who found out about this. it was someone else from the previous forums who first posted about this, but i forgot who. :D
