SRS WOW vs. Spatializer

I have heard that a former firmware version featured SRS, and now that has been changed to "Spatializer" (maybe because of license problems).
Now, has anyone ever tested the old firmware version and can give me a comparison to the Spatializer ?
Unfortunately, I have never owned a device that had SRS WOW, so I have nothing to compare to. The only thing I can say is that the Meizu Spatializer does not sound good with every track you throw at it. Therefore I have it turned off most of the time.
Also people who own another device with SRS, please tell me about your experiences.

I had/have a iRiver E10. Even then I didn't like using SRS, it makes the vocals very muddy. I preferred custom EQ.

I like the spatializer more. SRS makes music sound muddy and crappy.

True words!

Spatializer or SRS Wow are only software functions with unknown content, maybe only integer based calculations. I don't think that they differ strongly. Resources!

Maybe your senses are so good that you feel, that DSP are cheating your ears. I read in a german music mag quite recently, about the trend to "normalize" the music to sell better. They put the dynamics up on a level, which is annoying after a short while, if you don't like weapons camouflaged as sound systems for cars. But it sounds "better" than other in the beginning. Now thinking about my old Korn records give me creeps ... :-))

I have no experience with SRS. But I know the DSP from Samsung's YP-T9 - DNSe Portable - horrible. I had the feeling even in the beginning that this DNSe-DSP was quite a joke.

I can say that my M6 has the best sound on a mobile I've ever used. Or not?! I trust the normal acoustics of M6 and the good compression of my music. They had better ears and systems during recording of the music and development of a good sound for the Player. And I can use the EQ for small adjustments for the headphones, but DSPs like Spatalizer - what is the use? Maybe they needed a cool feature to mark out from Apple.

Sorry I was very very dogmatic again ...

Happily I don't listen to music that was produced for the masses. What you have read in that mag is true. They produce a sound that's easy to digest, where selling is more important than art.
