IEM for M6
Hey I am looking for a new pair of headphones for my M6.
I decided that i want an IEM model, since i need to use them for traveling.
I am currently looking at:
Ultimate ears Metro.fi2
Ultimate ears Super.fi3 studio
D-jays
I am leaning towards the UE Super.fi3 - since they are cheaper than the d-jays atm.
Been looking at many others to, but most of them are hard to get i Denmark.
But if anyone knows any trustworthy European shops, i am open to other suggestions.
Peter if you see this, why can't danes pay with dollars in your webshop, i would save like 25%. And since CDon does not seem to carry d-jays anymore, they get a bit more expensive.

you might want to try reading through all the other topics about headphones to get suggestions about a good pair

Read that - searched Head-fi, and headphones.com, and it didn't help me much.

I would go with the super fi.3's. I have a pair of super fi.5's and they sound great. They also have a user replaceable cord, which is really, really, really great to have as the cord will generally fail way before the actual phones do.

I haven't heard the D-Jays yet, but from that list, I would go for the SF3. Its cheap, and the sound isn't bad at all. You may find the bass a bit lacking, but the M6 can easily make up for that with its equaliser and bass boost feature.
Actually, if you could stretch your budget more, I too would recommend either the Shure E4c or the SF5.pro. They will sound "better" than the SF3, but it really depends on what type of music you listen to. Different earphones have sonic characteristics that will do better in certain genres of music.Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1
2GB Meizu M6 T1 > Not in use
8GB iPod Touch 2G > Shure SE530

I kinda listen to almost everythingfrom classic to hardrock even a bit of dance.
But mainly pop and rock. Katie Melua to AC/DC
Blackstar i've been looking at your suggestions and must say that the SF5 are way to expensive in denmark, they cost twice as much as SF3, so it is kind of a big strech.
But found a cheaper shop so i can save a bit on UE headphones.
Haven't been able to find anyone who has Shure E4c i Denmark, found a british shop but they seemed to be just as expensive at SF5Last edited by beatmore; 06-29-2007 at 06:17 PM.

Been looking some more, and i belive that im going to buy SF3, since is kinda cheap in denmark atm.
The biggest consern i have is that the impedance is only 13ohm - and 30+ seems to be the best with m6 as this solves the hiss isues.
Anyone who has hiss isues with SF3?Last edited by beatmore; 06-29-2007 at 10:22 PM. Reason: Typo

any headphone/earphone with a low impedence or a high sensitivity (>100dB) will hear hiss on the TP version of the M6.
The way to solve (dampen) the hissing issue is to simply use a portable amp.Current Rigs:
8GB iAudio 7 > Not in use
4GB + 32GB iAudio D2 > Alessandro MS-Pro
Sony MZ-NH1 > Headroom Total Bithead > Grado Labs PS-1

Been looking at portable amps, but can't really find them in the EU, (the few i find seems to be kinda expensive.
But might build my own later on, looks like it is pretty easy.
Buying the UE SF3 - they are cheap, so I can always buy some new ones if I don't like them.

good idea. You probably won't be upgrading from the SF3 anytime soon though, they sound pretty good for their money.

You where right, I have been using them for a while now and I'm pretty found of them.
Sound is quite clear, bass is nice and they isolate quite nicely.(Perhaps to good)

yea.. just be careful when crossing the road with them on. I nearly got hit by a car because i couldnt hear it coming. So now i hardly ever use IEM's outdoors, but when i do, i make sure to take them out when crossing a road.

Blackstar, I noticed in you sig that you listen to your M6 using the CK7s with the Total Bithead in between. Does this amp make a big difference in terms of clarity, bass quantity and soundstage?DAPs/Buds/Misc:
