strange, maybe when you convert them to a lower quality, it might work, because when i put some songs on my m6 with WMP in wma file, WMP first converted it to another quality before it went to my m6

Hate to say it but I would probably transcode it into something other than wma if your having issues.

Specs for the M6 found here:

    Audio formats supported: WMA(VBR) 8-355kbps, OGG Quality 0-10, WAV (PCM, MS-ADPCM, IMA-ADPCM), MP3(VBR) 8Kbps-320Kbps
Make sure your WMA file is in the format specified, and you should be fine.

I noticed this with the Meizu M3 music card with firmwares 2.003.2 and 2.003.4 when ripping with Windows Media Player 11 (WMP 11) using Windows Media Audio Pro format (WMA PRO). WMA PRO is the newest WMA format.

The M3 with firmware 2.003.4 or earlier doesn't understand WMA PRO; ripping with the older WMA formats works OK.

    Might your scenario be similar?

    WMA Files

When I contacted the web site that the music can from they suggested that I copy the WMA files onto a CD and then rip them onto my laptop as MP3 files, then copy them to the player.
Did this and they now work OK.

... Yes, that's easy to do but it takes ages if you have a lot of music to convert.

did you by any chance buy DRM protected files?

My whole music collection is in WMA and I have no problems, but I didn't copy hte files into the M6 - I synced via WMP11 and it converts as needed. there are different formats of WMA, so you can't just copy onto the M6 like a regular file

I know, it sucks but that's what I had to do with my files last nite , on the top of that I lost the ID tags , I had to rewrite them by hand .
is there anyway to keep the tags with the songs as u convert them????

Just use media player, and set the quality to lowest. You won't notice a difference
If you are having trouble with your player, please visit this thread first and try the steps before you panic. Most likely you will be able to fix your player easily using the steps listed.

Players: Meizu M6 SP 4GB, iPod Touch 4G
Headphones: SoundMAGIC PL-50s, Auvio In-Ear Armatures, Bose QC-15s.
Current Audio Congifuration: X-Fi Elite Pro w/LM4562 Mod -> Mission MS-50 + Boston Acoustics Subwoofer

Gerald... you are trying to play WMA lossless, which is a bitrate above 355 kbs.
This format is not yet supported in any Meizu firmware.
M6 is clear in its specifications.
In my M3 it's supposed as supported but it isn't either.
We will have to wait for a new firmware

gosh! Teclast rough rockchip firmware is supporting WMA lossless.

this is the solution here , just tried it and works just find :D

First of all make sure you have the latest firmware which is 2.003.2.

Then, make sure you set your miniplayer's USB setting to MTP instead of MSC by going into SETTINGS then USB MODE.

Finally transfer your DRM music to your Meizu M6 miniplayer via Media Player.

If you had tried to transfer your DRM music previous to these steps, you may have to remove them and reload; I think that's what I had to do to get mine to work. It's great! I don't have to waste my time converting music, and I get the album art too, if one is present.

update on DRM files , don't really like to mess with WMP
so I looked on the net and found this little program called "TuneBite" and works like a charm :D , you can transfer your files directly on to M6 , change the tags, you can sync your player to it , make ringtones for your cell....blah,blah, blah , in one word it's "Great"
