    What is your EQ setting?

    Hi everyone!

You can discuss your personal EQ settings here, and don't forget to include the type of earphones/headphones you are using!

    Here are mine:

I use the Sony MDR-EX71SL in-ear earphones and below is my EQ setting:

    Bass: 10
    Treble: 2
    Spatializer ON Virtual 3D
    Virtual 3D: 2
    PCE: 2
    ViBE: 2
    Custom EQ: +6 +2 0 0 -1 -1 0 +2 +5 +8

This setting for in-ear earphones gives a bold bass and 3D surrounding treble sound! Enjoy!

i use koss ksc75's with a cmoy amp and i use a flat 0 across the line on eq. i just got my m6 last night, so i'm going to listen to it at this setting for a bit and see what changes i want to make. so far, it seems i'm going to raise the treble + 1 or 2 where needed. or i'll just do a kramer mod to it. =T

I'm alternating between a Sennheiser PX100 and CX300 at the moment.
I've got the custom Eq. set to all flat, Bass Boost on 6, Treble Boost on 2 and Spatializer off.

I use the PT800 that came bundled with the M6

    Bass Boost : 15
    Treble : 3
    EQ : Custom - 7-10-11-7-9-10-9-13-14-13
    Spatializer: ON
    Mode : Virtual 3d
    Virtual 3d : 7
    PCE : 3
    Vibe : 6
    Speaker : Earphone

I know this may sound loud, but on these earphones you can get some crisp sound

Oh yeah, if you decide to use this don't take the volume over 15 because it will blow your head off!

i now eq a little bit with my ksc75's and a little dot micro+.

    it's 0-0-0-0-0-1-1-2-3

removes 99% of all traces of sibilance, but at a compromise of having slightly rolled off highs.'

worth it for me since i can't stand sibilance.

I have tried few different EQ settings and I wonder if there is a way to store EQ settings in user1,2,3 type lots. I have seen on many product descriptions that there would be user1,2,3 EQ settings, have these been erased by firmware upgrade or something?

edit: Silly me, altering presets settings: rock etc, gives the same result

uhh... how exactly does increasing high frequencies remove sibilance? increasing high frequencies = even more treble. You don't get rolled off highs by boosting the treble mate. Especially on the KSC75.

Consider a cut on the low frequencies to remove the harsh highs, or just leave the eq flat with a slight bump in the lower frequencies.

Seems like there're many people set the high treble on their EQ settings.

    I'm planning to get a Sennheiser PX100 soon .

Here is mine with PT800 bundled head phone.

    Bastboost 9
    Treble - default
    Custom EQ - 8-4-3-2-1-1-4-5-6-7
    DNSe off

This is my favourite one , it's pretty much compatible with most kinds of music. I'm more about bass so T.I shoulder lean , One chance - look at her , will blows your ears away.

I wonder why so many people alternate the sound so much, especially with shure e4's which produce sound so accurate that there is certainly no need to chance it in so immense scale. It is pretty same as you wouldn't like music as its original form, as it was ment to be. Altering the sound also loses its details. But well, everyone got their taste.

I myself got shure e4's too. Using all off except EQ +5 +3 +2 to boost the low end which is in my opinion not enought punchy ( yet it's much more accurate than the low end with px100's or grado sr60's ) for some sorts of music. For classical, flat is great, thought +5 +3 +2 doesn't really effect it much and I think the music doesn't sound unnatural at all in most cases.

It's probably to boost the high notes that most MP3 encoders annihilate. The Franhouver (sp?) encoder is dreadful at doing this while LAME isn't quite so bad. Once you go lower than about 192Kbps they all seem to slice off the frequencies above 15Khz

I see we have some serious bass-heads here
    For me:
    Bass Boost: 0
    Treble Boost: 0
    All other 'fancy' stuff: Off
    Custom EQ: +4,+2,-2,-2,-4,-4,0,+2,+3,+4
    Maximum volume limited to 25.
Sometimes I feel there's too much bass...and 25 is still too loud, but I will leave it for now.
    Btw, I use Panasonic RP-HNJ50 inner ear-phones.

    Here's what I use with d-JAYS...

    Bass Boost: 4
    Treble Boost: 2
    Spatializer: On
    Virtual3D: 4
    PCE: 1
    Virtual Bass Enhancement: 5
    Speaker Type: Earphone
    EQ: +2, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, +2, +3

Volume 12 with Spatializer always. When Spatializer is turned off -> volume 15.
Can't wait to play with the Meizu MX!
