Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsHi there everybody!
I'm rather new here, my player is... 3 days old
I use a pair of Panasonic RP-HNJ50 in-ear earphones. My settings are the following:
Bass Boost 8, Treble Boost: 1, no SRS, EQ flat at 0.
I mostly listen to Metal, Rock and some cross-genres to Hip-Hop and Electronic.
My headphones are too strong on the high frequencies by default, so these settings give me a nice boost on the bass and treble.
I think that I've noticed the Bass Boost not just altering volume, I feel that it pushes the low frequencies down a little bit more as well. Am I wrong there, anybody?
And to the people who put the equalizer way up from the 0 - if I may: As far as I know, most songs nowadays are encoded around 3-4db below the maximum volume that can be put through a sound wave stream. Raising the volume so much would probably push the sound over that hated 0db cap, which would result in music distorting. Maybe you should try to carefully check that sound for any distortions? Most probably on the higher frequencies!

to avoid cap, use mp3gain or replaygain type of software.
bass boost and treble boost do nothing different than the EQ does, only for people who want a quick modify and do not want to use the EQ.BatMan, the free video converter for Meizu players. Problems ? English First Aid here. Deutsche Erste Hilfe hier.

Thanked 0 Times in 0 PostsI've just recieved a pair of Sennheiser CX300s and have been playing about with the audio settings, but on certain tracks it sounds a little too bassy. I do like a good bit of bass though it does seem to be enveloping other aspects of tracks. Current settings are:
Bass Boost: 1
Treble boost: 2
Spatialiser: On, mode set to Virtual3D
Virtual 3D: 1
PCE: 2
ViBE: 3
Speaker Type: Earphones
EQ set to classical currently.
I know I could reduce the bass with the settings, but I seem to have either too little or too much bass - any recommendations on settings? I tend to listen to rock/pop type music typically.

I have some questions about EQ.
Is it really worth using ?
I'm a newbie so if there isn't like a default preset for certain music types, i usually put it as flat on my Auzentech Prelude sound card.
Can anyone teach me how to properly setup EQ :x

Spatializer: Off... I hate this s**t
Virtual 3D: Off... I hate this more than Spatializer
EQ: Flat... I hate EQ
Speaker Type: Earphones

EQ depends on if i am using my portable amp or not.
With amp: flat
Without amp: 4 bass boost, 1 treble boost, EQ is flat

Thanked 19 Times in 19 PostsFinally…Phew...
Finally after 3 months (Yes its take some time) I found my perfect sound setting for my Meizu M6.
Through many experience with bad settings with sound distortions, hissing voices, too much bass or treble and other things, I finally now have my sound crystal clear as a diamond:

No…I am just kidding!
That I wanted to say is I listen most to instrumental music, electronic, techno, dance and a little bit pop.
This kind of music requires a good amount of treble, something I also personally really like.
The only thing I like to say is, music like pop etc. you know (music there containing voices).
The setting(s) I have made is maybe not all times very ideal with this kind of music.
In that case I have noticed we have to be careful with adding too much treble.
(Raise Treble boost or set the 3 bars on the right side of the EQ to above 0.)
You will then maybe notice your favorite band singing high tones like someone scratching on a blackboard, and that’s really hurt the ears sometimes.
But enough talk, here is my settings.
I can say I am very proud of my setting(s) and will also show it is possible to make good sound without Bass boost and Spatializer mostly.
I did have my pocket full of popularly in-earphones and speakers,
so I did make some settings for these. (Also the reason why it’s all took so long.)

l
l Sony MDR-E931
Bass Boost: 0
Treble Boost: 2
Spatializer: OFF
EQ: +6, 0, -2, -2, -5, -6, 0, 0, +3, +6
Restrict Volume: 37

l
l Meizu bundled PT850
Bass Boost: 0
Treble Boost: 0
Spatializer: OFF
EQ: +6, +3, -2, -1, -2, -2, 0, +2, +5, +5
Restrict Volume: No Limit (40)

l
l Sennheiser MX300
Bass Boost: 0
Treble Boost: 1
Spatializer: OFF
EQ: +6, +2, 0, -2, -2, -2, 0, -3, +5, +6
Restrict Volume: No Limit (40)

l
l Sony MDR-EX71
Bass Boost: 0
Treble Boost: (See Text)
Spatializer: OFF
EQ: +6, 0, -1, +2, +2, +1, +1, +3, +7, +7
Restrict Volume: No Limit (40)
Here I fine-tune with treble boost to what I listen.
Default for pop is 0. Instrumental music: 2

l
l Creative EP-630
Bass Boost: 0
Treble Boost: 2
Spatializer: OFF
EQ: +6, +2, 0, 0, -1, -1, 0, +2, +5, +8
Restrict Volume: No Limit (40

l
l Tiger Rubber Earphones - Creative EP-630 fakes, 4$ - May exist with several other names.
Bass Boost: 10
Treble Boost: 1
Spatializer: ON
Spatializer Mode: Virtual3D
Virtual3D: 0
PCE: 6
ViBE: 0
Speaker Type: Earphones
EQ: 0, -6, -3, +5, -5, -10, -4, +3, +5, +7
Restrict Volume: No Limit (40)
(With this crazy setting listed above,
they actually boost an okay sound for the price.)
What about a setting for a Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Surround Speaker System

Bass Boost: 5
Treble Boost: 3
Spatializer: ON
Spatializer Mode: Normal
Virtual3D: 0
PCE: 4
ViBE: 0
Speaker Type: Speaker (I know it don’t have any affect)
EQ: 0, 0, +3, +5, +5, +5, +2, +5, +10, +15
Volume: 20
Subwoofer: 50% volume (Z-5500)
That’s it
Hope the thread wasn’t too long.
But be careful when using my settings. Maybe they will “Terminate” you!

Thanked 1 Time in 1 PostHi,
Settings for akg k314p
Only using the eq (no bass and trebble and no 3d effects : in fact no effect at all but the eq).
What should be done to have them really sound great :
1 - use them several days when brand new (the sound gets better and better) : they sound a bit agressive at the beginning, but not anymore after using them for about 30 hours.
2 - set the equalizer to this : +4 0 -2 -1 0 -1 -7 -1 0 -1
the "-7" on 5khz is probably a bit personal, because I got an over-sensitivity in about that range, so just set that specific range to what seems to match better your own perception.
