What should I name the files I rip?

My M6 is on its way, and I am going to start ripping my cd's with wmp10. What should I name the files, and in what order? They give options of track name, album, artist, genre, etc...

Just what you're comfortable with will do.

The m6 allows you to view tracks individually (according to filename) / according to the album or artists.

Anyone of em works just as good.

It doesnt really matter, all it matters is the ID3 tag name you encode it with whilst ripping - that's if you, like most people, use the MUSIC menu function. Otherwise you could play files using BROWSER mode.

Thats correct and WMP10 will write tags for you automatically if you want to.
If it wont, you can simply download a program and let it bach-create tags after the filenames.

If you want to do this please be sure you rip in a decent filename like Artist - Song - Song nr - Album or Just Artist - Song if you want to keep it simple

About naming of the songs / order of playing

Naming of the songs will depend on how you want to access the collection you have in your machine.
There is several choices for play your music:
1.- By all songs the music will be ordered by filename or artist or album. In 4 Gb, as is my Music Card machine, I can easily have about 40 cds. to browse all that amount of songs is impossible.
2.- By artist then by album is the best, but there is a small problem here: the songs within the album are ordered alphabetically, which is the worse way, because the artist put his song by track number for an artistic reason. So it has no sense to listen the songs alphabetically. Some people would like this, but it's not natural.
3.- By album the song within the album are ordered alphabetically. Same as before.
Then using the browser, seems to be the most suitable way, but it's needed to follow several menus and answer several questions (open? or play?)... to finally play an entire album.

To avoid this it's needed to add track# in the name of the songs (I mean in the tag) and you'll be able to choose artist and album easily as explained in option 2.

If there is the option of create playlists, but that requires some extra work than simply enjoy the music.

This is the only problem I have found in this wonderful Meizu machine. This made a difference if favor of the expensive Apple iPod.

Solution is rather simple... to sort automatically songs by track number instead of alphabetical order, as it was what the artist choose to order his creation.
Or make that sort order option applies too to Artist and album choices.

Not aware that such softwares exist so what i did so far would be to select all the files > properties & then insert the value there so it would appear in every file..

Yeah, that is what I'd do for specific values, like "artist" and "album name" or "year" and "genre" of the music. Others like "name" and "track number" get annoying, have to do one by one. WMP finds the closest track name and order and details online so you can just search and use.

You can also change the names before you rip of the files on WMP if you like - its also easier that way then the properties method trust me.

I don't have a meizu m6 yet, but here what I would do to avoid the trackorder-Bug (I actually thought it has been removed in the new firmware?!).
Rip the files as usual to your harddisc (I'm using EAC for this purpose). For the filename use for example "Tracknumber - Title".

Then copy the files of your choice on the meizu.

For the next step I would use mp3tag (freeware).
You can just drag all the files you copied on your Meizu in mp3tag. In there you'll find an option, which allows you to get the track-title from your filename.
