Blackstar as I was saing I use senn's 270's now so I'm on that road from quite some time It's fine for me and I get stares even without the phones just because of what i wear so that's not a problem and it isn't a burden now with senn so it probably won't be a burden with sth new.

ahhhhhhhhhhhh...... :D I see where your coming from now. Well if your fine wearing headphones out on the street, you shouldn't have too much problems =P.

But the only reason you aren't really alienated is because the 270's are DJ headphones. They don't look as sexy as my HD212pro's but they are relatively similar in size. Try wearing audiophile grade headphones out, and you probably won't do it next time :D (try the AKG K1000 and see if you get any sexier! XD)

j/k! i know i know.. you want portable headphones not audiophile grade ones. But as far as portable headphones go, I don't think they can get much better than the 270 or ES7. Unless you are serious about wearing K1000's out on the street....... I'm fine wearing K1000 at home, but i wouldn't even contemplate wearing that beast out on the street.

I wouldn't wear it because of the price(would not want to break them) and because I would need a port amp for them and thats not my thing. If the rest stayed same and they were closed, low ohm and cheaper why not

Probably I'll buy canals but only if there will be more data that they are safe cuz I'd freak out if I damaged my hearing (almost as bad as getting bald to me :P )

If you want closed and good quality (disregarding size) try the Audio Technica ATH-A900. Its a huge headphones, but sound quality is insanely good for the price. Crisp and accurate highs, slightly upfront midrange and lots of detailed, deep bass.

And if you can wear those out in public everyday or regularly... i'll give you................................. 3 cheers. :D

Actually they are better if you use them wisely, because since they block out more outside sound it requires less volume.

I like the Etymotic ER6's. Small, in-ear canal earbuds with some awesome sound quality. Also, these puppys block out a lot of sound around you.

I have and like the westone um1's a lot. They pair very well w/ the m6.

They are also IEM's (in ear monitors), very similar to the etymotic er6's. Both are very good entry level IEM's, about $100.

Check out http://www.head-fi.org/ for me reviews and info on different headphones.

I've owned both and I would definitely go with the super.fi 5's. The sound quality is much better and they have detachable cords. This is great because I've found that the wires go way before the actual headphones do. I always keep a spare set of wires just in case
