This lookds like a fake, and J. Wong hasn't posted this. If it's true, it may comes from a betatester and then we will se a video very soon. But as I said, I think this is fake.

Definetely fake... foobar2000 is an audio player. Why would you need an audio player on the M8? I mean it's a phone/audio player.

it's no fake, its a fan art...
I really like that design of the m8, but icons are much to colorful and no closed design.

So ... Windows Media Player (bundled with Vista on my PC) can handle DivX, Xvid, DVDs, etc .... but I use other programs for playback. Why?

So that's not a valid argument to call these pictures fake ... though I think they are fake

If it's not going to be included in the M8, then it's "fake" as far as we care. Of course the images are physically real, we can see it right there- but I don't care about some mock ups of the GUI, I want to see the phone in action!

As a graphic designer/developer I can tell you that these are not real. They lack quality and professionalism..... and just plainly suck ass.

Please read my ENTIRE post - it's only 2 lines long

---> M47Z complained, that those pictures aren't fake, but fan art. Well, I stated, that fan art is indeed fake, because it is not real / not made by meizu / not used in the final M8. (Jubre explained it as well)

Definitely a fan-posted photoshop..

The poster actually posted it on the original thread.

It looks realistic enough, but we know it's obviously fake.

I'd like to see those transparencies on app logos tho. Even when it comes to be just a PNG with transparent BG it hasnt been widely implemented per phone's current screen size.

There are a number of factors that pop out straight away and then others that come out after a longer and closer look. I will use the first picture as an example:

Firstly when advertising you need to use colours which compliment and not conflict. The colours used in the logos[designed by eico] are very nice and work well together. The colour of the background conflicts with some of these logos and other added logos also. If this was professional, all colours would sit well together and not conflict the way they do.

You may say well it could have been added by a user if this is a beta modal. Yes it could have so I will comment further.

The buttons associated with the message are very badly done. These are the read[green button] and back/read later[red/orange] button. The person who designed these either wanted to add a glossy style and didn't know how, or wanted shadows and made a mess. It's just not pretty.

Another obvious fault are the main icons. As you can see, the user just got these from the net and tried to cut around them(more than likely in photoshop using the lasso tool). The edges are not smooth but rather they are bumpy from not being cropped properly.

Other faults that may not seem obvious or important are things like mis-aligned icons or graphics[time], or the message icon on the bottom right corner. the triangle shape is not positioned properly with the bubble part of the icon. the bubble part has rough edges from a back cut. There are different colours used as outer glows for different things that don't go well together.

There are many more but I think you get the picture.

don't know if there's a version of foobar for Win CE, but if there was, then would that solve the codec issue for the player? You can pretty much play any audio codec on foobar, and its endless customizability (and low resource usage) would make the M8 as versatile as the Cowon D2 in terms of playback GUI adjustability.
