Nope... is not ... but maybe is interesting to use this new word to explain the confuse and unstable situation of Meizu projects for their new devices (M7 & M8)

What about this?

Ubergizmo had these on their page.

Emgeton Mini One is Available and this Meizu M8 MiniOne Images Leaked.

Is it realy true that a clone of the M8 is here before the M8 itself?

Ciao

This is quite a funny bit of news indeed. But what is even more funny for me is that the second link contains the quick photo shop I did yesterday of comparing the physical similarities of the Itouch and the leaked photo of the M8.

The link eventually ends up at the article that was posted in 2007, which we all knew was the Meizu photoshops rebranded.

Let's hope it won't. Not a better way to get trash on your phone than using MSN. Besides, why would you even want to use MSN, for crying out loud... :D

Someone could port Pidgin for example to run on Win CE. It supports a variety of protocols including MSN.

Sometimes when I read the discussion here I wonder if the user really know what a PDA is... I mean the users of iPhone and future M8.

I have been playing with an old PDA iPAQ h3800 that have to be from 2001 or so, which is managed by a OS called Windows Mobile 2003. This 3" screen device of 65k colours have a bluetooth connection to use Internet Explorer and MSN as part of OS.
Edit: this PDA is fully touchscreen and multitasking

In this PDA it can be loaded all the applications that the user needs or wants. I load on it a media player called CorePlayer that surprisingly is capable of play as many media formats as a PC can... all format can be read here... I test them and all audio plays as good as any MP3/MP4/PMP... with a surprising extra: it can access Youtube and play smoothly all the videos on-line.
It doesn't play APE ... I tested also a M4V video without conversion picked from an iPod friend... which plays!!!... if it can called so this sort of slideshow what a video is in this ancient OS... but sound was OK...

Al this running in a device driven by a OS made around 2003!.

After 5 years or so, it's supposed that this Cell phones/PDA which are iPhone/M8 are capable of do this in a better way as technology have evolute. I don't know if iPhone can do this due to restrictive regulations of Apple (like to mount the commercial software I mentioned)... but surely M8 driven by Windows Mobile 6 (?) will do it without any trouble.

Then it doesnt have so much sense to discuss if it will support MSN or IE or whatever... all PDAs can do this!... at least those of 2003 were capable of do this and lots more.

Well, I just looked at the CorePlayer page and there's "CE Embedded 5+6" mentioned in the supported operating systems. So yeah, the M8 should be able to run it.

But Windows Mobile 2003 (based on WinCE 4.20) is an ancient relic... it might have been able to do all those things, but it certainly had a lot of limitations as an OS too. (even CE 5 only allows a maximum of 32 simultaneous processes with up to 32MB of address space each!)

If you take a look at the evolution of Windows Mobile, and it's Windows CE counterpart, you'll see that a lot has changed since then. Particularly, WinCE 6 has seen a huge improvement over it's predecessors, with a completely redesigned kernel which makes it much more flexible, easy to develop for, and future-proof. I've been reading about it and I'm really convinced that CE 6 is by far the most advanced embedded OS out there.

Of course, these improvements have a cost: backwards compatibility isn't 100% assured. But considering that each iteration opens possibilities for much better programs in the future, I think it's worth it (otherwise after some point developers would get stuck on the OS limitations, unable to make better software than what was made in 2003).
Anyway, with Windows Mobile 7 (based on CE 6) coming up next year, you can be sure that many great new programs will be there for WinCE6/WM7.. And since WM7 is not out yet, I think Meizu made the right choice with their OS!

Thanks for you documented answer... what I wanted to say is something that is really important for future M8 users: it's PDA part is not limited by the designers of a PMP... its capabilities relay on WinCE-Meizu or other OS, which is known that will be Windows, so it will have IE and MSN... and the ability to run applications as Coreplayer, beside those that Meizu itself develops.

I just mentioned the ancient WM2003 in order to let people know that lots of features haven't been invent by Apple... most of them dated of at least 5 years ago, the only thing they do was put them together and made them look more beautiful.

Concerning the cell phone part... not idea... it's not important for me.

it might be in a second version(coming in a few years perhaps?), but for now there is no front camera.

What do you mean with "you"?

Make no confusion: we on this forum are just fans. We have no input on the development of M8. We don't even have any contact with Meizu besides the occasional email of a user asking for support.

But yes, it looks like they (Meizu) have removed the front camera, since the first version of the M8 will not be 3G. If you really want a front camera, I think you have to wait for the 3G version.
