"Formatting... Please Wait" error

Hi, I have been getting this green screen for awhile now. Heres the deal... the DFU thing works and I can still shut down the player and reinstall those 2 files with the player successfully. I hold down M and Power throughout the whole process and everythings dandy.

But it doesnt help! when i turn on the player again, its always the same green msg. Any ideas? :D

ps: i have a SP version

After you first put the 2 files (M6.BEN and resource.bin), you need to restart the miniplayer. You will get a green screen.

After that, plug it into the computer whilst turned on, and copy the resource.bin file ONLY into the root. Then restart, then you should have your new version.

Hi, im not trying to update my sp player. It was a dead player I was trying to recover. Im using the 1.009 version.

- How do you just copy the resource and not the other?
- What is the 'green screen?' The formatting screen is kinda green but its not an "error" screen as described in the FAQ.
- Also when I plug it in while its in the formatting screen it will recognize it as a meizu player and not a DFU device... so the DFU thing wont work.
- Lastly I dont know how to put resource.bin into the DFU server. When I start the DFU server its always two images files... SST39VF800.dfu and M6.EBN. I cant replace the .dfu file with resource... thats okay right?

As far as I understand. I put both files in and use the DFU tool. Restart. Then remove M6.EBN from the folder and use the DFU tool again. It will give me an error that says M6.EBN not found when opening the DFU tool, I click okay and itll only copy SST39VF800.dfu. Ill have to abort after finishing the first image and player should work. No. It doesnt work!

Thanks

Ermm... you are very very unclear to what you did to your player. Try to tell us what you did to it, why you are using DFU tools (should be last resort to everything), and what is your current problem status.

The green skin is normal if you are trying to upgrade firmware. Just copy a single file - resource.bin into the root directory. You know how to copy and paste don't you?

Hi there, it started one day when my player suddenly shut down. It wouldnt turn on and it wouldnt get recognized by the comp. Thats when I started using DFU tools.

At first I used the most recent firmware w/ DFU. It didnt work well as when I turn on the player its all shiny bright. I didn't notice that ppl suggest the 1.009 version.

Then I used DFU again with the 1.009 version. When I finish uploading the two files with DFU I then see the screen that says "formatting... please wait" That is where I am now. I can turn off the player by holding enter. When I try to open the player, theres a sudden blink but nothing happens.

Maybe clarify for me what pasting to the root means? The root of what? Im assuming to the root of the DFU software. I cannot paste it into my player because it doesnt show up as a drive.

I have no idea what your problem is with your player, as I have never used DFU tools before, and don't know what it will do to your player. Any help?

Copy to root. ROOT is the folder that you are in, when you doubleclick the miniplayer from MY COMPUTER. In the root folder, you will see all other folders (ie MUSIC, VIDEO, etc.). You are meant to copy the 2 files into the root. And then after restart, copy resource.bin into root again. Restart.

My Meizu
After updating my Dane-Elec Meizu M6 with the last firmware (S2004.6) big problems. The player doesn´t work anymore. Only a quick white blink is visible, further totaly nothing (dead player). The computer doesn´t recognize the player so I cant´t do anything.
I need help. I read about special tools I can use??. Sent me all the things that bring my player back to live. Serialnumber: M6SP04GGJ3KDL1921.
Please email to s.tjinta@gmail.com.
