iPhone died, what to buy next?

A few nights ago I dropped my iPhone at home on the hardwood floor in my room. Everything seemed ok, I unlocked it and then plugged it in to charge when I went to sleep. The next day when I went to text someone, however, I noticed that the bottom 1/4 inch or so of the screen no longer responds (so the space bar and "send" buttons for texting are unusable among other things) and there's a pretty bad ding in the top left corner of the phone where the casing is now loose. I am using the phone unlocked on T-Mobile so no warranty of any kind Now I'm looking for a new phone with a good internet browser and screen for under $300 USD. Any recommendations?

Cliffs: iPhone dropped. Semi-broken. Looking for a decent internet phone for less than 300$.

That's about twice of what I want to spend right now
HTC has a lot of cool phones, though, I'm researching them now.

You can sell your broken iPhone on eBay, it will go for $200 at LEAST.

Repair isn't an option I guess. Doesn't apple charge like an ungodly amount to get the battery replaced.

I think they would void your warranty anyways because it was dinged. The problem is the digitizer. That is the thing that is the touch screen. It's just something that is on top of the LCD.

Yeah, I had seen the broken ones going for quite a bit. I haven't really seen any other phones I'm impressed with so I may end up buying another iPhone or possibly a BlackBerry® Pearl™ 8120 if T-Mobile will sell me one for $150. I hope the m8 isn't as fragile as the iPhone. 4 of 5 friends I can think of have either broken their iPhone or had to send theirs in for some reason.

So I ended up buying another iPhone. There was nothing else under 400$ that impressed me at all and the iPhone is a really solid device that does everything I want/need and then some. Still can't wait for the M8, though!

I saw some videos of the UI and it looked horrible. Web browser among other things was complete crap. Cheapest I found it on eBay was closer to 400$ too

I got a slightly used 8gb with screen protector still attached and literally no scratches for $350 shipped after a few days of lurking eBay/craigslist looking for a good deal.

The iPhone looks beautiful but is seriously lacking in specs. I'm happy to wait for something MUCH better to come along.
