no doubt i will buy the m8 the iphone 3g is "cheap" but with a contract so the m8 is the cheapest one you buy it unlocked and without any contract.

M8 is better but it isn't out yet. I wouldn't go for either. I would get a HTC Diamond (if you have that kinda money to spare).

Lol you can't know that the m8 is better right now, we'll need to review the actual product first. Anyway, I'm glad to hear at the Apple camp that iPhone prices are more friendly in the EU versus US (americans just have too much money to spend)

T-mobile germany/netherlands -> cheapest contract 29 euros / month on 2 year contract
The actual specs of the contract are still unknown, but do include calling; sms; and internet.

iPhone itself will cost 169 euro with this contract. (29 * 24) + 169 = 865 euro, which is about 1300 dollars.

The price you've to pay once for an iPhone in The Netherlands isn't available yet. In Germany it is €29,-. T-mobile in Holland said they'll have their own price. At 3 July we'll get more information about the contracts....

The price did lure me in, but on a whole the contract and the fact that you cannot quickly remove the battery at all turned me back to the M8.
I can tell you I am going to camp out in front of the store to get an iphone then try my best to sell it for more, I will wait 30 days then return it if I cannot. I really hope they sell out quick. Hopefully That will be my seed money for the M8.

That right there is what drive me nuts about people on this site. ANYONE can make up a spec sheet and it would be better than another phone. But until it actually come out with the specified specs, then it is just speculation.

Can people please stop coming on and using the spec sheet as a backup/weapon against other phones. PLEASE! As we have seen only today, some of these specs are no longer even going to be an option unless we wait for many many more months AFTER the last latest release date.

As of now the iPhone is a better phone as it is already released. When/IF the M8 gets released and the two are reviewed against each other and the M8 comes out on top.... Then and ONLY THEN can ye really say that it is a better phone.

I'd go for a phone that does in fact exists.
With that in mind, I'd go for an htc diamond or coming september, the xperia x1. As of now, I'm more than happy with my N95, and if rumors are true and I'll be able to get android in it, I won't be replacing it untill late next year.

By the time this phone comes out Apple will have updated the iphone at least 3 times, they are already on their 2nd version. What's to stop them from making the iphone better than the m8 when it finally comes out? Each time they "Meizu" makes an update, who's to say another company will not copy or improve on that? If that's what's taking them so long to come out with it, they may as well never releasee it...

I'm assuming that most would prefer more convenience and a cheaper price. (on a replacement battery/second battery)

Most people don't even know where to get a replacement battery.

Most people wouldn't even keep their phone til it is old enough to need a replacement battery, on top of that a lot of people wouldn't even know that there are replacement batteries available (similar to what DusL just said). Besides that, my point was that the majority of people wouldn't think that an unremovable battery is enough of a reason to decide to get a different product.

Not everybody is a techno-freak - they just want to use their phone.

Also nobody said that people don't know about changing batteries; please don't twist our words.
