At $199 for the 8gb and $299 for the 16gb white or black (WORLDWIDE Price)this will make it harder for alot of folks to wait. I still really want the M8 and will wait (well with my new phone) until the M8 is released and with make my mind up them.
I still have hopes for the M8, but everyone is catching up as Samsung has many of the same describe features as the M8 on its new 900 series phone such as the 5mp camera and other items.
Again the "I" has not made many new friends worldwide in the business arena.

Need to lower the price or more space

What they need to do is make the 16gb 250 ro 200 in order to do good or they need to add a small hard driver or more space like 32gb ? Thats the only way they can do good.

For me, it killed any chance of getting the m8. At $199 and I'm already an AT&T customer with my contract running out the beginning of August. Forget about it. Thanks for taking forever Meizu. I'm gonna be takin my new iPhone instead.

And It's Going To Be Out In 11 July.

The Only Thing Make Me Wait To The Meizu Is The 3G Talking With Camera.

But Wait!
The 3G One Will Be Out Next Year!!!
You Know What, I Think I Will Go With The Iphone.

Lamest comment ever...
They already decreased the price from $399 to $199 for the 8gb version which is more advanced than the first gen iPhone. If you're not able to afford a 16 gb version, then don't buy it, for additional $100 you can get twice the capacity and IMHO it's a very good deal. The only thing that Apple has to do to generate incom is to actually release it's products because there will always be people who will buy their stuff.

M8 Will Not Survive!

Yes, m8 will loose this one...
They have taken to long to come out with the m8 while other companies came out with phones of their own in 1/3 the time...

The new iPhone has more features, better software, and a larger support base now... including large grants to support and fill up the new App store...

If the m8 would have came out Q1 of this year, they would have had a chance... I forsee the m8 now being a thing of the past unless they come up with something new and better.

The new iPhone will have 3g and native gps support...

Like I said awhile back, the m8 could have been just hype this whole time... and nothing more...

If Meizu ever comes out with anything, I'll have to see it to believe it...

A phone like this with over 1 year in the making is obsurd... Even nokia can do something faster...

Seems like a damn good deal for current AT&T customers. For the rest of us, the m8 still might be a good alternative as hacks to unlock the new iphone for other providers will lag behind the release, and unlocked/non-contract phones will have a greatly inflated prices online or wherever you're lucky to find them (just like the earlier months of the original iPhone release).

Yes but the number one reason for meizu m8 minione was it was cheaper than the iphone. So the whole point was cheaper! If not cheaper Than no point right? Im not an apple fanboy. Im still getting the m8 (hopefully if it comes out anytime now) Im just saying other people will not buy. Hence 2 people on this topic said they are getting the new g3 iphone. Im just trying to say the only way to win is cheaper price.

Not the only way to win imho: Meizu would still be regarded as the outsider, offering some advantage (USB OTG, not simlocked, processor, screen, WinCE) (and loosing on other point, like 3G and GPS, MacOSX), and also offering alternative to the iPhone for those who do not like Apple...They could take a bit of the marketshare...If they release the m8 on time, because now the other smartphone manufacturer will wake up. Not because the iPhone 2 has incredibly better hardware. Because it has exchange, office document support, push email, which prove Apple is serious when they say they now target business users.
Big wake-up call for all the HTC/ETEN/HP Ipaq/RIM/... that though that Apple could stay in the media/internet phone market and that they can keep slow hardware updates while still milking the very profitable professional segment. I guess they will release new models as fast as they can...and it seems it could be faster than Meizu.

M8 has its chances against the iPhone2. Not against iPhone2, a few WinCE 6.1 or WinCE 7.0 smartphones, and new android phones. Maybe NVidia-powered new ones too! The window for the m8 was already getting smaller with the various delays...Now it is closing faster...

M8?

I jsut don't get it. I understand the hype behind the M8, and all its advances, and what not, but to most people who just want a trendy, nice, fun, new phone, its just not going to cut it. The form factor is already old. Apple and its many, many clones have already saturated the market. This phone if and when it comes out will not even be noticable. Most people don't care about the features that will supposedly be available with this phone, besides once it comes out there will be many phones with the same features. For as much work as has been put into the M8 it had better be flawless, with no stupid issues, which it won't, no phone is perfect, it's going to be a disapointment. Besides, who's going to carry this phone? Is it just going to be an unlocked open source phone with no backing carrier? Here in the States it kinda depends on advertising, marketing, and who's carrying it? I'm a bit annoyed as are most fans of this some day to possibly be released phone... poo....

Do you have to buy the 2 year contract before you buy the iPhone?

I agree, a strong point that the M8 had was that it a lot cheaper than the iPhone. It was the reason I found out about the M8.

I didn't expect my troll post to turn into a serious discussion... Meizu fanboys am dead. btw: HTC is probably the only company that can compete with apple when it comes to hipster smartphones these days IMO. The whole touch series was getting close to competing before today's keynote. It's also really annoying that I can't separate my thoughts with a line or two also.

Meizu fanboy's are a bit frustrated about the upcoming iPhone 3G versus Meizu M8 limited-underfeatured-test-version contest I think.

I'm not sure if this is a serious question, but as I understand, if you walk into an AT&T store and get an iPhone, you can walk out with just an iPhone and no contract. Even if this is true, though, what AT&T store staff is going to let you walk out without some kind of contract under your belt and some kind of commission for themselves?
