You don't need to know about it's features, looks, release date etc to make it a real development, I don't think they want to say anything about it just yet for two reasons, one being the current iPhone is still making sales and if they announce the next one people might decide to wait for that rather than buying the current one. But also that not announcing a release date means they don't have to stress/rush/do a half assed job if they run into any delays with the development and they don't have to stick to their originally planned specs. Just my view though.

Yeah, I agree with you. I was just stressing out that it's a comparable situation to that of the M8: we also have proof that it's being developed, but since it's not out yet and there's no official release date, everything we say about it now is just speculation.
