To show album art you have to give the jpg file the same name as the album name that is stored in the music file idtag. The jpg file must be in the same directory as the music file.

So for example, you have just ripped a cd called "my greatest hits" by an artist called "Carter" and stored the music files in a directory called "Carter-my greatest hits".

Make sure that the album idtag for each music file from this cd is "my greatest hits". Get your album art jpg for this cd. Rename it to "my greatest hits" and put it in the "Carter-my greatest hits" directory.

And Voila!

Hope this makes sense....and is correct :-)

How to DEFINITELY get cover album art EVERY TIME

Hello.
The easiest way for me is to be on MSC mode, not MTP, and drag and drop folders to the music folder. Then all you have to do is to name the jpeg EXACTLY the same as the ID3 Tag album title. If you do that, guaranteed, all MP3 files with the same ID3 Tag will show that album art when playing. If you have different albums in one folder (different ID3 Tags) then simply put more jpegs in that folder so all MP3's have art. Simple, and works EVERY time... just dont use MTP, it is a waste of time.

Does it have to be Mp3, or could it be WMA?

Found a small "Hack" for albums with more then one artist.
e.g. the album "Buena Vista Social Club" .. there are many different artist, its a little bit nasty to create for every trak one jpg. so you can cahgne the album name in the ID tags to "Buena Vista Social Club." (spot the dot! ) and then name the JPG "Buena Vista Social Club..jpg" (two dots ).
Its not a beauty sollution. but it works for me
Just wanted to share it with you

Interesting, thanks for sharing. So it seems that the extra "." acts as a wildcard replacing the values for Artist.

Thanks for sharing how to make the album at work, Carter and X-Tender. It's really much nicer to look on the screen with the album art there.

Thank you so much for much for this info, it's been workign flawlessly. The tip on hidding the content so as to not clutter the player is also a great idea. Much thanks.

Unfortunately, this works here only if you do not have more than one album by an artist:

/MUSIC/Artist - Album/ ← works
/MUSIC/Artist/Album/ ← does not work

Is that normal?

edit: OK, I found out that the problem is that the folder must not have the same name as the JPG

I've recently got the album art to work. But the image appears a little bit transparent. Is there any way around that?

There's an option called Background Blend in the Display Settings to adjusted that.
