M3 T2004.6 firmware Feb. 18, 2008

From the Meizu download page, M3_T2004.6.rar , so it's official firmware.

I can't say anything more, I've only downloaded, not applied.

Uh, I'll try to translate the changelog:

1. Supports CUE files
2. Modified charging detection method
3. Fixed other bugs

i stick to 2.003.2 since library update with this one is very very slow (5minutes)

have you measured it, or just feels like 5 minutes?

on my M3 there are about 1300 songs, and update takes less than 2 minutes, even with this firmware (although haven't measured it with earlier fw)

I agree, it is still painfully slow, mostly because it starts this update even after it was connected to USB just for charge in switched off state - but I cannot imagine how could it take more than two times this long... (number of songs is limited at 1792, so I'd expect 3 minutes at worst)

Bugs I've noticed:

Graphic EQ doesn't work with FLAC files, only mp3.

FM only finds like 3 channels.

Otherwise it seems to work well.

EQ itself works fine for me with FLACs, only the level display does not - but that is not a bug, it is mentioned even in the manual
Besides, it is crap with MP3 files also, so it would be nice to get rid of it

Can anyone advise whether this firmware has finally fixed the big one i.e. the 'stuttering' bug heard at the end of tracks? (And related to that, does it now support gapless?)

Cheers.

depends what do you mean by this...
The annoying charging bug (always doing Library Update after USB connection, even if it was just a charge in switched-off state) seems to be gone now: since update to 2.004.6, it never updated Music Library without reason!

Several people who have upgraded to the 004.6 reported in another forum(russian) that arbitrarily gets updated library, but they are not charge device and not connected to USB.
This as is..
On my M3, with the same version, it does not happen. Why, I do not understand.

Thanks THK for the info about the stutter, sorry to hear Meizu still hasn't fixed it despite 6 firmware versions and an avalanche of protest about this bug. Maybe their technicians just don't have the skills to do it. I know I won't bother upgrading any firmware until this problem is fixed (who knows, that might take so long that even the M8 will be ready by then

I don't really believe they will fix it: if one year was not enough, why would they do it suddenly? Meizu M6 is somewhat older product and also affected...

Either their programmers do not have the skills indeed, or it might be a weird hardware feature that cannot be fixed.

I've used 2.004.6 now since my original post. I play and listen to FM only. My files are mp3 and wma. And a custom black screen with white letters (more visible in daylight).

Upgrade from 2.004.5 to 2.004.6 went without incident. It preserved all my settings. It doesn't re-scan the library when I charge the M3. It sees the same FM stations as those scanned by earlier firmware.

It works.

I wonder if someone might help me out here. I have an M3 SP model. I see that Meizu has provided a firmware update called "New Firmware ver T2004.6 for MusicCard TP version." Is there also an update for the SP model, or can I use this one?

Thanks for your help.

If it's the same as the M6, it should be like so:
