Does lacking usb mode mean you can't transfer album art?

just place a file <album name>.jpg in the same folder as your music, it easy to do...

is the 2.004.3 really that good? No other real improvements since then?

I'm still stick to 2.003.2 too
I still can't see any useful improvements by upgrade to 2.004.6
I don't use text book very much, nearly not at all.
I want stutter issue fix and more language options.

I don't see any point in upgrading firmware yet.

Completely with you in that regard. Way way too laggy in the update speed to tolerate!

in the beginning i was thinking this would improve in the new firmwares, since it still takes some time on 2.003.2, but seems i was wrong, hopfully rockbox will eventually be released for m6 !!

By now I just want that they(the Programmers)change back the way to go out when viewing pictures and put back the menu in the center of the Pad control just like before, because now we have to press the M:Button twice rather than once like before.

They must to put the menu back where it was before if they really want to protect the M:Button and of course bring back the USB mode selection too.

Could just be my imagination, but have they done something about the sound in either this or 2004.5?

Seems like I can turn the volume up much higher before it goes muddy in this compared to the previous ones. And the treble doesn't sound as tinny either.

Brain ghost?

I have a M6 SP version I got about 3 weeks ago. The first thing I did was to update to the unofficial 2004.6. I believe it had 2003.2 on it when I got it. I still have the USB option in the menu. I updated to the 2004.6 and still have the USB option.

Hello all,

Maybe those who had the USB issue could tell us what is/are the model(s) they use, since Tiberius never had the problem with an M6 SP. (Or maybe the problem does not occur when you first flash with the unoffical version).

It's not an issue to me, since I only use it as a USB device (Linux user). But I, too, do not have the option anymore, so maybe my information can be of help to others.
  • Have an SP
  • First with the not final 2.004.6 (had plenty of upgrades before that as well). Don't know if the option was still there or not.
  • Then the official 2.004.6, which b0rked my M6 (first time ever), but I got it back working with DFUTools with 2.004.6 straight away.

What's the deal with "unofficial firmware"? Where did you get that idea?

You're right, it wasn't unofficial, it was just not the final version. I'll edit my post.
