Th3_uN1Qu3, I think you're right. Somehow I missed to think about that... The good feeling you have as a Meizu owner is also to know not to be like all those Apple fanatics consuming a brand name without really evaluating audio-quality.
The reason I can't stop comparing them to Apple is just because there's quite some stuff that reminds of them like e.g. the player design, the very stylish packaging and the way they sell their stuff at Meizu shops in China (went to some in Zhongguancun, BJ).
Of course I know "the big green fruit" has no patent for this so it's just time another company starts to reach for this kind of quality products and design. If there's some time left in March I'll probably check out CEBIT.

I for one am done waiting. I could not be arsed to watch Meizu postponing the M8's release further... and further... and further...

I'll wait till theres an alternative. So far there truly isn't.
HTC Touch: Ugly, far too round.
iPhone: ... I suspect you know all the flaws.
KU990: Too thick, and too much... camera.
N2: Too small. I want a large screen.
Prada and the other fancy pants phones: Expensive and crappy.
iPhone 2 might be worth something, but I won't stop waiting for M8 before there's a decent alternative. But once it's there, I won't be waiting a second longer.

I couldn't wait any longer, I went out bought an iphone and unlocked it myself and have never looked back, loving me new phone and all the 3rd party applications for it that I don't know if the M8 will have as many apps for it as the popular iphone, but regardless the M8 still looks nice.

Uhh, the Meizu will have Windows CE. It supports third party apps out of the box. It just... "works"

Hi,
I was buying an 'HTC-Touch' before Christmas 2007 but a friend sent me a link to a site with the images of MiniOne.
I said "Stop! This is better", and I read over the internet that it was expected for January 2008. Now I read that is March 2008 and we know how much is difficut to stay on schedule, then the first pieces will be affected by beginner problems... and don't know if it's a good idea to wait so long.
About the prdocut specs, are you sure that it's WiFi? I think it's a very important feature for a mobile phone, and on the internet page at MEIZU M8 MINIONE - The #1 source of miniOne info online! Meizu say it's not WiFi.
Second, why WIN CE 6.0 and not WIN Mobile 6.0?
Anyway I want a mobile and I can wait 3-4 months but if Meizu won't be available before summer I will get an HTC-Touch.
Regards

Third: why Meizu home page does not push MiniOne? Why they don't create curiosity about this product?

I guess some people can't read, lol.... I never said it doesn't have 3rd party apps, I said will it have as many 3rd party apps or people developing these new apps and espicially with the SDK coming out for the iphone finding apps and installing them are too easy.
I personally like the interface on the iphone and by the looks of it the meizu will be similar so I am sure all of you will love it.
so to me both phones are the "same shiet, different smell" and I don't wanna wait for something that will be about $100 cheaper but wait almost a year for it, no thanks, but thats me, I want new technology when it's still new, not when it's been out and copied 10 times over. If you keep waiting for something better you will never end up with nothing, plus what are firmware updates for to update your device with the newest features.
thats my 2 cents

That's fair enough If you feel that way however I think the reason many people are drawn to the M8 is the fact that it will not come with all the financial and software commitments you get with an iphone. The M8 will be completely unlocked for any GSM network, there will be no need to use itunes, no need to buy a contract and no need for jailbreaking. It will also support many more mainstream audio and video formats than than the iphone ever will. You will not need to convert to apple formats. Plus the fact it has a better screen res. It will also have other functions apple will never include like USB-OTG, which will esentially mean limitless storage options as well as digital TV and GPS add ons. Also once the developer community gets a hold of it there is likely to be thousands of apps with no restrictions imposed by apple. It is a far more open platform than the iphone that is why many people are interested in it. Plus the fact it is considerably cheaper (the 16gb model will be almost the same price as a 8gb iphone). They have taken to long too release it, but lets remember there is currently no phone avialable (not even the iphone) that can match the M8's spec. I was worried to that it may be out of date before it arrives but I do not think there are currently any 16gb handsets available in europe or the US and very few 8gb handsets, and none of them apart from the iphone have a decent size screen (3.3 inch +) for viewing video or support many open source audio or video codecs. You can say it's the same shit but it is very different and if when it comes out it works well, it will have far more benefits than the iphone particularly for the people who know how to harness it's power.

I believe you are the one that can not read. SDK? I would rather risk bricking my phone over that. Apple has to approve of the programs that are used for SDK, so don't get your hopes up too high.

Hi bcmiguel, I agree with Sere83.
I don't want an iPhone because it's expensive, it's a "close" system, and when you buy an Apple device then you are married with Apple all the life (of your device) long, and you have to do everything with Apple. Not for me. But it's true that iPhone has the best graphic interface.
M8 joins the features of a good not-Apple mobile (I hope it will be WiFi too), with the iPhone look and this is a good thing for me.
Anyway I think that in March 2008 there will be the first prototype, and M8 won't be available until 2008 Q4, then there will be some problems with the European standards, so I'll buy and HTC-Touch this summer. But M8 it's a good project.
Sorry for my english , bye, Zuipli

I'm also thinking about buying a iTouch or something until the M8 comes out. Just waiting for it while not buying anything can make a person mad. (do you know anyone with a twelve month patience?!?)

Well, I'm happy with my 8250 and might upgrade to a 8855 soon, but no, I'm not interested in the M8.
My M3 works well -- I only listen to music on it. Maybe it's because I like to use one thing for one purpose only, so the M8 doesn't appeal to me.
