How long will you wait for the Meizu M8?

How much longer will you wait for the Meizu M8 before you get something else?

Personally, I'll wait 6+ months because I currently use a phone I'm a happy with.

I'm still happy with my mobile phone ... and the Neonode N2 is very expensive ... so the conclusion is: I'll have to wait for the M8

I'll wait for it till it comes out. My SE K310i still does a fair job as a phone.

TBH...even waiting till march is pushing it... As almost all of the manufacturers are taking out similar sort of phones... Just different specs... depends how loyal one is to any brand... Meizu is pretty new atleast for me.

I will only buy another phone before the M8 if a phone comes out that can match these specs.......

16gb flash memory
3.3 inch+ size screen
Full XviD/DivX support up to 720x480 @ 30fps 2mb/p/s
WIFI
Bluetooth
Decent battery life for audio/video
available offline below £325

If all of these criteria can not be met I will wait for the M8. I said july in the poll but only because I predict by that time something will be out that can match these specs. Besides if it appears at cebit in march it seems likely to be on sale to the public by july.

I also am content with my phone, and will be waiting for a new phone until december anyway when verizon either gives me a new phone for new-every-two, or if we switch to at&t after our two year contract is up.

the poll is missing the most important question:

Will you now - as no working prototype is available - wait even longer?

for me: I quit the wait and will buy a phone of an other branch.

March in Germany - although I am German - is too late. I do not think they will be able to show a working prototype within two month, if they can not show a semi woring device right now.

What do you think? The most time consuming period is bug tracking and working on the final GUI. If they can not show a working prototype, the phone either will be ready on September or not good in quality (usability).

for normal: big branches show prototyps in January or February and you can be happy if they come out in October!

Unfortunately I lost my Asus P525 and now I use Nokia 1100. I have researched the similar products, but HTC have only 64MB RAM, and HTC Advantage is very heavy and big. iPhone is only a gadget. I wait for M8 very much. And I hope that it will has GPS inside ;-)

After I saw how hard Meizu is pushing it in China (p.r. wise) I really started to like them. I think I would wait until up to July 2008 just to give them a chance to keep me as a customer and therby also help in giving the company a chance to grow, learn from it's faults and do better next time.

I want to see an Apple competitor in the future that can at least fight for the Chinese market. Think about how hard this is today with Apple so very well established in MP4 players and phones already!

I'm also from Germany. Any idea if CEBIT is open to public? (At least for a day or so?)

I'd wait longer. Although I work in a city that has GSM, I happen to live in an area that only CDMA is reliable. Coverage is getting better for GSM based tech, its still not reliable.

*sigh*

Such is life. :D!

I had been watching the Meizu site for a couple months, and liked their players. And later when i found a guy selling brand new M6SLs on a local auctions site, i couldn't say no. After getting my M6SL, i REALLY started to like Meizu. :D

I don't want Meizu to compete with the big boys, but rather to keep their current status as a small company building very stylish but affordable media players. This way, having a Meizu product makes you feel "different". I also wish that they would extend themeing support, or at least use anti-aliased fonts, coz the only thing i have to complain about the M6SL's UI is the jagged edges on the fonts.

In any way, the M6SL is one sexy little device, and mine always turns heads. All my friends were amazed by its sound quality and impressive battery life. My classmate Paul has an iphone, yet he admits that my M6SL sounds better. His older brother wants Paul to sell the iphone, so if Paul does sell it, i think we'll both get M8s when they come out.

So what if it won't be like apple's stuff? It isn't supposed to be like apple's stuff, you know?
