Bootup Stuck at "Update Music "Library"

My Meizu M6 is brand new (got it today!) and it is not working. After loading my music on it, it froze. Now it will not boot up, it gets stuck at the message "Update Music Library" under the words "miniplayer."

The only way to turn it off is via the back arrow (bottom key).

I tried turning it off and back on several times, but the problem is the same.

Any ideas to fix this? I'd rather get it working than go through the hassle of shipping it back.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

UPDATE: PROBLEM SOLVED..... I went to FAQ and learned to reformat. Lost that cute little AVI marketing video that comes with it, but at least it's working!

Hi guys..im having this problem as well, tricky part is that I can't do hard reset or format player, tried both methods for long time, ntg happens.

I can only do a force shutdown by holding "return" key, after which i power up same problem.

Any solutions?

Edit: managed to get the format working finally....phew

Threegreen, I bought my M6 this August. (SP, 8G) The first time I upgraded the firmware, I noticed that this update you speak of went noticabley faster.
Also, I noticed that the update would sort of stall on the FLAC music files that came with the player.
I hope this helps.
Don't you just love your miniplayer?

try this: when the player shows "updating library", perform a hard reset by pushing ">>|" and the play button until it turns off itself. if you push the play button now for a short time, you'll notice that the screen flashs for a second. wait about 10 minutes or longer until the screen no longer flashes by pushing play, then turn the player on again and it will format itself.

edit: or, if the message "updating library" appears, just wait up to ten minutes and it will update your music library!
