Today I would like to tell you a trick how to use BatMan as a general purpose video converter. Sometimes you have a video you just want to convert to AVI without changing the resolution or losing much quality. Everybody who has a standalone player in his or her living room knows about the special compatibility problems these players usually have.
In my today example I had a self-produced holiday movie that was in h.264 format and I wanted to play it on my living room player which is not capable of h.264.

Just do this :
- drag movie over to BatMan
- enter "C" for the custom profile
- enter special command "delay", enter "0"
- enter to leave the special command prompt
- "edit" to edit the custom parameters
- enter the following parameters :
1100 (video rate)
1400 (action scenes)
25 (fps)
128 (audio rate)
44100 (sample freq)
000 (x resolution) (the triple 0 is necessary if you want to keep the resolution)
000 (y resolution)
no (rotate)
2 (passes)

Now you get a beautifully converted divx version of the original. If you want to use this strategy more than once, just let the "edit" part out and press enter instead to recall the last saved values.

EDIT : the latest BatMan version offers a device mode "PC" that does pretty much the same without the extra effort.
