Actually, there are 2 kinds of things you use to get further... a bike hit DOWNWARD, and a bike hit UPWARD. I forgot how you do each of them, but you get 3 of each.
Also, each person you can hit does a different thing. Some hit him higher, and some hit him farther, and some blocked his movement some. You can see which person is coming up next in the boxes at the right.
