BatMan converter - quality poll
BatMan is a free multi-format video converter for the M6 and M3.
Get the program and more information in the official thread : BatMan - einfache Stapelverarbeitung für MEncoder
In this poll, I would like to know your opinion about quality profiles. BatMan has 6 different built-in profiles for different purposes like cartoons, movies or high-end, but I need some kind of feedback if these profiles need tweaking in their settings or if they should stay just as they are. Some people have their own taste in frame rates, sound settings and so on. If you want something changed, please post a description of what needs to be changed, but be sure to test your settings before by using the "custom profile" which is invoked by "C".

the profiles are fine as they are, and the program is realy good. It is for people like me, who don't know anything about video converting etc. and it also nice for the people that want to change something, that they can.
keep up the good work!

Is there a slight possibility that the german thread you listed could be translated to english for the majority of us' sake? thanks!
like, i would like to know how long it may take to convert certain size/length videos? eg:
the simpsons @ 150mb, 20minutes
on Q4 high setting
how long?

google translation can translate whole websites. Even chinese
Edit : actually tried google translation on the BatMan thread and a had a good time laughing my a** off what google made from it, hahaha
original German : " Bei mir ruckelt nix"
direct translation : "By me shakes nuthin'"
meaning : "on my device, this video does not stutter"
google translation : " With me jerk ELT nix."
LOL !?!

get BatMan, drag your file over, choose 4 and you'll know :D
Of course this is system related, nobody can test that for you.
If converting speed is your goal, choose "C" for custom settings and make it a low bitrate (200) with 1-pass (Q4 uses 2-pass).

for any support or off-topic questions please use the original BatMan thread, see above link. Or ask me in a PM if you don't want to discuss it in public.
I replied to you in a PM, Jack
I would like to keep this thread open for the poll-related questions and ideas.

BobbyQ, I found the original batch file version great but this updated version is excellent, the xtra settings option is a great addition and find the darken settings improve the overall quality of the encoded video.
I think the quality settings you have are perfect, future special options I would like to see are brightness, saturation and audio delay+\-. Although I have only converted one movie as yet (Q5) I found I had to run it through VDub to correct the audio sync which is no biggy as it only takes a minute but it would be great to do it all at once.
Thank you.

@MadMan : thank you very much ! btw .. I added audio delay +/- ability just this morning .. *g*
I have thought long about bright/saturation tweaking since it is technically no problem, and came to the conclusion that nobody would normally use that. And now I read your post ..
If I have the time or more people ask for it, I will put it in.
Oh, and btw, the movie you encoded with Q5 : don't test with Media Player, always test directly on the Meizu since it needs that small delay ! I have made it so that an original movie that plays sync on your pc will play sync on the Meizu after converting with BatMan.

I wll redownload, I previously used PocketDivxEncoder and found tweaking up the brightness and saturation a little gave me good crisp contrast between colours on the small screen. I am just in the process of encoding another movie this time straight from the DVD (normally I rip to AVI before encoding) so will try the new download as soon as it is finished.
Thanks again.

I'd like to remind all participants that if they choose "none of the above, we need another poll, I will explain.", they should leave a short explanation.

Hi Autch, that already happens automatically. Also, if you use the "transfer" command, you are able to upload the results automatically to your player (or any other folder of your choice).
