Just opened my brand new Meizu M6 and saw a bunch of chinese characters. Tried to install the S.1.009 to get the english version. (donīt know which one was installed from the beginning) and I got the message
Formatting...Please Wait...
It is stuck and this message has been on for 3 days now. Tried to drain the player and all the combinations with holding on button with the other in different combinations. Nothing works. It is only possible to turn it off by pressing the arrow button on the bottom for 10 seconds. The player isnīt recognized by the computer any more so I canīt reinstall it. I have DFU but it wonīt work with the firmware...donīt know what to do....anybody?
sometimes when I pull in and out with the cord usb to the computer it is recognized by windows...but it says that no drivers is installed for the unit, and when I try to open the folder, the computer freezes. Probably because of that the meizu is "working" with formatting. Tried the thing on another computer with the same result. When I opened the DFU, the download button is never lit so I canīt use it. (Downloaded the latest firmware and put it in the DFU folder)
well, if you can turn it on, try connecting to your computer when the screen is showing the Formatting...Please Wait... message. If you can do it, be sure about the version of your miniplayer and then try to upgrade again.
yes...it says SP on the back...I donīt know what firmware it came with...maybe it was s1.010 and that one isnīt supposed to be downgraded...I tried s1.009 when it stopped working. And now the last days I have been trying to load s1.010 version. But the problem is that I canīt open the Meizu in the computer so there is no way to load the firmware.
yes..I tried that way....when I come to the last box "search for best drivers in these locations" and press it....the search continues for 2-3 seconds and then it says, there is no newer firmware aviable. I read on some forum about a guy with the exact same problem and he solved it buy using s1.000 and that was the only firmware that worked. But I canīt find that one....do you have a link for this firmware....it could be worth a shot
correction....the info I get is in the window...not in DFU. DFU isnīt detected at all when I plug in the usb from the meizu. Maybe I have wrong DFU version?..it is from 2006, but maybe there is one special for the SP version. The link that you had above for the DFU doesnīt work
So, there's no way for your pc to recognize your player right?
As you know it must be ON before connecting to your pc... Im not quite sure about the DFU since i never had to use them before.. But the hard reset always works fine for me as well as the Memory Cleanup, both explained on FAQ section (player must be on to use them)

Ok....getting there slowly...It seems that this DFU Server workes better. Now my computer recognizes it. Ok I guesss I am supposed to load the M6.EBN from s1.010 on Image 2. But on Image 1? Is it SST39VF800.dfu .....or
SST39VF160.dfu....or the resource file from s1.010?
You must have pressed M key+ Power ON key together and MUST hold them until entire process in DFU isn`t completed. If you release some of keys, detection fails.
I Also have a problem with this, I tried to downgrade yesterday but it started freezing on the yellow formatting screen. Now I let the battery run out, and re-tried turning it on, again yellow formatting screen.
So Idownloaded DFU server, but when i enter USB cable and press M+poweron nothing happends? how long do i need to push it?
You cannot 1st connect then press, but you must:
1st run DFU Server
2nd press "M" and hold
3rd press Power On and hold
4th connect to USB, still holding both buttons, then start download M6.ebn and image files.
