BADAK is a program based on Mencoder that could help you convert your videos. This special package includes the latest version of BADAK, three presets for Meizu M6, extra codecs for WMV, RM, MOV, and more.
Instructions:
1. Download and extract
2. Open preset > Choose what quality you want (Low, Medium, High)
3. Add file(s)
4. Click START
i personally recommend novice video converters to use this conversion program
it is very very easy to use, and requires basically no set up - just choose the preset for meizu and go. also, this program runs in batch mode - more then one file can be chosen and converted at once.

Thanks for the suggestion and link to the program.
I don't consider myself a total novice, however I have had quite a number of problems in getting the Meizu supplied software or indeed VirtualDub to work well and consistently.
BADAK however, worked great first time every time! :D
If only this had been bundled with the player from new...
Now at last, I can transfrer all my US TV show downloads onto my player (Lost, Heroes etc *drools with anticipation*)
Well BADAK isnt that good :/ sometimes the voice is off. and the video hickups sometimes.
MZ video is in ???? and that worked i pressed a button and it converted and i dont know how i did it. i need a good one and Virtualdub isnt good at all :/
I am a novice and have managed to download photos and music to my M6!
Which is quite an accomplishment for me, but now I want to play videos on
my M6. Which is the main reason I bought it, in the first place. Everytime I
read these posts about what converters to use and how to use them, I get
even more confused.Could someone out there please give me the easiest and
best video converter that they have used or know of.?I would like to start using my M6 for videos soon. Will the M6 play DVD's that I might purchase from the store, and not just TV programs? Thanks WT
Almost all the video converters are based on memcoder and just offer different GUI and custom feature of support for different target devices.
Winmemc is probably the best as it doent restrict the options you can use.(this is my prefered encoder)
Super is also good and allows the disableing of video for when you want to extract music from a music video etc, as a mp3 file.
Iverter is very simple to use but limited options.
Virtual Dub is good for editing video to change length as well as re encoding but it can be more confusing due to it very advace capabilties.
Its best to download each and see if it does what you want.
...i'm trying to convert some videos with both Badak and MediaCoder (even if my M6 isn't arrived yet)... by now the major difference i've noticed is that MediaCover rotates the video by 90° while Badak doesn't...
Is this rotation necessary?
Can't i do it from the player menu while watching a normally oriented video?
Someone posted this program converts .flv flash videos... and in reality, it doesn't even know what a flash video file is. It doesn't see then in its explorer, and I can't add any to the program. Why can't I?
For some reason when I try to convert .gvi (google video) files to .avi in a gvi to avi program, then format that .avi in BADAK it only does the first 17 seconds of a music video then stops.
I have jsut set up BADAK and although the M6 plays the file it has small colour squares over most of the picture, I see the same if it is played on the PC. I have tried all qualityies.

Any idea what causes this?
Peter
I think it has to do with miniplayer itself. I also get the same thing, but it isn't THAT noticeable if you are really into what you are watching :D.
For BADAK, i always use the medium quality one. You can see the difference with the medium to the low, but you cannot really see the difference with the medium to the high. Therefore, it is wise to use the medium - gets you a good file size too.

Is the audio-sync problem occuring AT THE START and ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE END of the video? Or is it just appearing during the video somewhere?
If it is just appearing during the video (the audio-sync problem. ie. the voice and the picture appears further and further apart), then just press fast forward of rewind once, that way the video rewinds/FF and your audio-sync is back to normal.
If your problem is audio-sync since the beginning of the video, then I'm not sure. I think the original video has audio-sync problems itself since the beginning?
