With phone or without phone . . . that is the question. Including a phone potentially steals Apple's thunder-- IF Meizu avoids traditional carriers and instead utilizes VOIP. People like me who need a traditional phone can get a $50 cheapie with contract and be free of a need for a data plan. Apple is taking the community back to old technology and rapacious business structure by forcing people to sign with Cingular/AT&T at high hardware cost and long contract duration. Carrier proprietary interest is exactly what keeps technological innovation stagnant.
Can Meizu actually outstrip Apple as a catalyst for change? That is an even more interesting question. My money is on the new kid on the block Meizu because of the M6 successes and the ability for Mac or PC to use the device and install 3rd party apps (I'm no tech guru but I NEED a host of items such as legal dictionaries or encyclopedia for my profession and there is no point in having a pda without it).
Also, how will Meizu interface with Macs and PCs? Apple has outsmarted more than a few simply by making the ipod easy to sync!
