User Developed Software for Your Meizu

Here at Meizu Me we have some really talented members developing software to help and improve the experience for the community of Meizu users. As of recent, development has picked up considerably and we see many exciting upcoming releases in line, one of which the highly anticipated Rockbox port for Meizu M6 miniPlayer. Below are some highlights of software developed by members of Meizu Me worth to check out. BatMan: A user friendly tool for converting videos for playback on the Meizu M6 miniPlayer and M3 music card. The program is constantly updated and improved upon by our member BobbyQ and is the first choice for video conversion by many Meizu fans. SuperMan: A program allowing you to easily, automatically download and configure album art for your songs to be displayed on your Meizu player. Font Importer Tool GUI: A very user friendly tool, based on the m6_font_import tool by member Asmo, that allows you to change the font on your Meizu player. MeizuCenter: Still in its early (Alpha) stages, MeizuCenter is already looking like a good manager for Meizu players handling everything from file management to the handling of saved radio stations. This is definitely a program to keep an eye on. If you are developing software for Meizu players, don't hesitate to use our Community Development forums for support and feedback from the community!

Meizu M8 Project On Temporary Hold

Several hours earlier, Meizu fans caused an uprising on the Meizu BBS after an unidentified insider source revealed that the Meizu miniOne M8 project was put on hold for at least three months. The chaos was quickly contaminated with users banned and offensive material deleted. The reason given for the hold was that Meizu was that quickly loosing market share on the domestic Chinese market, and needed to focus on releasing another MP3 player, Meizu M7, before their mobile phone debut. The Meizu M8 has caused Meizu to fall behind other Chinese brands now adopting large touch sensitive screens, multiple codec on-the-go video decoding, and recently also TV-Out to their MP3 players. Meizu M8 to Feature Messenger Client

The latest series of posts by Meizu CEO Jack Wong reveals Meizu's plans to bundle apart from a QQ client, also a customized version of Live Messenger free of charge with Meizu M8 mobile phone. The client will connect to the Messenger network through Wi-Fi. He also tells fans not to worry about other useful software as the M8 miniOne platform will be open. Source: Meizu BBS

Meizu in Trouble - Raided by German Police

Just hours ago, Meizu's booth got raided by German Police at CeBIT. Their booth was closed down under a Meizu M8 demonstration and guests were told "the venue is closed until further notice." The Police also seized equipment and literature. Tomorrow German Police will release a statement in regards to the action they took against Meizu. UPDATE: According to forum posts by Meizu CEO Jack Wong, the raid was initiated by Sisvel due to the lack of a Sisvel (patent holder of MP3 format) license. He also said that the booth will be open again at 4 PM. Thanks Juwie & Edu115!

Live shots of Meizu miniOne M8 CeBIT Prototype

The folks over at Engadget have now visted the Meizu CeBIT booth again, and this time taken photos of the Meizu M8 miniOne engineering prototype next to a iPhone for comparison. We now finally see how the rumored three button layout is going to look like on the M8. Meizu CEO Jack Wong said earlier that the plastics on the CeBIT prototype were not the final production materials, which explains why there is a white part on the back of the phone that does not fit with the overall design.
