J. Wong teases with M9II design |
Sep 01, 2010 - 5:42 PM - by nice2know_u
|
It's not really a surprise J. Wong posting pictures of upcoming devices very early and this time it's the same story. Here's a picture of the second version of M9 named M9II with a 4" screen and what appears to be a front facing camera. He said it's due for release sometime next year, but the hardware specifications are unknown as of yet (it would probably change anyway as time passing by). Size should be 64(W) x 118 (H) x 9,5 (D) mm or less.
Some new details on the M9 too:
JW commented it won't be able to run the standard Android system but only their customized version. Luckily the apps would still be compatible with their custom UI so in theory it will be able to run any apps downloaded from the Android Market.
He also promised Meizu stores would get 1000 devices for in-store demo early October, so there's still hope for release this year.
Full picture is after the break!
Update: Added picture of the side and the back of the device!

Meizu M9 photo released by Meizu CEO |
Aug 28, 2010 - 4:29 PM - by nice2know_u
|
Fans have been asking J. Wong to post some new screenshots of their custom Android UI but he posted a real photo of the new M9 instead... well it's still half photoshopped (only the screen) because he said it's hard to take a good photo of the screen and this particular prototype was still equipped with the old 720x480 resolution screen.
Some new infos have seen the light too, like that it will only be available in black color at first, then they may consider other colors later. The have not yet decided on the painting to be used on the back of the phone (matt or glossy).
JW also promised we can expect outstanding sound quality like with previous Meizu products except the loudspeakers won't be as loud as the M8s.
More bits of info can be found here! (thanks to yunfan for the translation)

Meizu M9 comes with Android 2.2, custom UI, 960x640 screen |
Aug 13, 2010 - 7:50 PM - by HondaRacer
|
According to forum posts by Meizu CEO Jack Wong, the new M9 will come with a custom interface running on top of Android 2.2. He also talked about M8FE and M8RE to M9 replacement program but it is currently unclear how it would work and if international users could apply for the price discount. JW announced all Android software should work on the M9, except a few games which require a trackball. The M9 will have a different WLAN module than the M8 and it's now also confirmed the screen resolution will be 960x640.
Release date is still planned for October.
New UI renderings can be found in second post of this topic!

Jul 18, 2010 - 9:46 AM - by nice2know_u
|
J. Wong just posted two renderings of the upcoming M9s Android interface. One of them shows the file manager which looks almost exactly as it does under Mmobile (WinCE), and an other one of the Photo Viewer app.
Pictures can be seen in the 2nd post of this thread!

Meizu M9 to be released in October |
Jun 29, 2010 - 5:15 PM - by nice2know_u
|
Well J. Wong (CEO of Meizu) said the M9 should be released in October (2010 that is) at an estimated price of 2380 CNY with an 8GB microSD card. As we know the M9 will be an Android device and Meizu is building their own UI on top of it.
In other news: porting Android to M8 is going very well, check out the thread of the project here, and a video of the current progress:

Is this the Meizu M9? |
Jun 01, 2010 - 2:05 PM - by Err0r
|
According to rumor, Meizu CEO yesterday leaked two photos of the Meizu M9 on the company BBS forums, and quickly deleted them.
However, some are doubting how legitimate these photos really are. Be the judge yourself, what do you think?
